The Deeper 33, pattern 22: Blog posts answer no question a client actually searched.

Do your blog posts answer real client questions?

Should therapists blog for SEO or skip it?

Monthly posts titled Self-care Sunday or The importance of mindfulness add word count, not visibility. Clients search with problems; referrers search with situations. If a post does not map to a question someone typed, it is diary—not SEO infrastructure.

Content calendars without intent

Agencies deliver four posts a quarter because the package says so, not because keyword research or intake themes guided topics.

Clinicians republish essay-style reflections that never mention how therapy helps a specific struggle.

Old posts stay indexed with thin advice, diluting site quality signals.

Traffic that never books

Generic wellness articles attract readers outside your service area or scope.

Without internal links to specialties and CTAs, even good readers leave anonymously.

Referrers rarely share blog links that do not help them place a client.

Posts that earn citations

Answer one question per URL: signs a child needs therapy, what first couples session looks like, how superbills work.

Use headings that mirror natural language queries; add FAQ blocks where honest.

Update posts when laws, fees, or clinical focus change instead of publishing duplicates.

Blog less, link more

If time is tight, strengthen specialty pages before launching a blog.

When you do write, connect each piece to a money page and a booking path.

Prune or merge weak posts rather than letting them compete with your best URLs.

Questions therapists ask about this pattern

Should therapists blog at all?

Only with intent. Specialty depth and FAQs often outperform sporadic essays.

How often should I publish?

Cadence matters less than relevance. One strong quarterly post can beat twelve thin ones.

Can I reuse newsletter content?

If it answers a search question and gets unique on-page SEO treatment, yes. Otherwise it may duplicate thinly.
