The Deeper 33, pattern 18: Group practices list clinicians with interchangeable blurbs.

Do group practice bios all sound the same?

Published June 7, 2026 Updated October 7, 2026 By Rick Julian

How should group practices write individual clinician pages?

Visitors choosing among six headshots need reasons beyond everyone is warm and experienced. When bios differ only in names and degrees, referrers guess—and often guess wrong. Each clinician deserves a fit signal: populations, modalities emphasized, and pathways to book that specific person.

Clone bios on team pages

Marketing drops the same three paragraphs under every photo to save time. The result reads like a mail-merge error.

Specialties lists become identical checkboxes for all providers, so no one ranks for distinct intents.

Scheduling links send everyone to a generic pool instead of the clinician best matched.

Referral misfires and client churn

Primary care offices cannot remember who takes OCD versus who leads couples work when blurbs match.

Clients book with whoever had the first opening, then discover a specialty mismatch in session one.

Internal referrals within the group stall because the site never explained colleague strengths.

SEO split across thin duplicates

Multiple URLs with near-duplicate text trigger cannibalization; Google may pick none to rank.

Person schema without unique copy wastes an opportunity to surface individuals for niche queries.

Location pages tied to the group but not clinicians miss long-tail searches for named providers.

Differentiate without competition drama

Interview each clinician for two paragraphs only they could sign: cases they gravitate toward, style, languages, telehealth states.

Link each bio to unique specialty pages and booking paths where policy allows.

Maintain a group voice on values while keeping clinical positioning individual.

Questions therapists ask about this pattern

How do we keep brand consistency with unique bios?

Shared design and values statement, individualized middle sections about fit and approach.

Should every clinician have their own page?

If they take distinct caseloads, yes. Thin pages should merge or expand.

What about new hires?

Publish only when the bio is genuinely distinct—not a placeholder clone.
